Ongoing fundraisers

Meijer:  All that families need to do is sign up for a Meijer credit card or a Meijer Guest Card SM at www.meijer.com (follow the Community Rewards link at the bottom of the home page), designate Hoover-Wood as your donor school (our number is 827321)  and then shop and use either card.  A minimum of 1% of the total purchase amount charged to your Meijer credit card or scanned on your Meijer Guest Card SM is donated back to the school by Meijer.

 Target:  By using your Target® Visa or Target® Card, the PTO receives a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program.  Please designate Hoover-Wood as your school at www.Target.com.

Pizza Night

The PTO is excited to announce that Pizza Night will now be with Maciano’s Pizza & Pastaria (630-966-9090), located at the intersection of Hart and Butterfield Roads in North Aurora.  Pizza Night has been expanded to twice a month (first Saturday and third Thursday), and Maciano’s will allow Hoover-Wood families to use coupons for Pizza Night, and has expanded the program to include entrees and appetizers in addition to pizza.

McDonalds Night

On the first Thursday of each month, don’t cook, instead go to McDonald’s for dinner, and McDonald’s will donate percentage of Hoover-Wood’s sales back to the school.

Market Day

You can feed the family, stock the freezer, and support the school all at the same time. Market Day offers both fresh and frozen, restaurant-style, bulk-food items at a group savings rate.  Orders can be placed with forms sent home, or through the we at  www.marketday.com. 

Hawk Lawn Ornaments

Eleven wooden cutouts of a Hawk silhouette can be placed in someone’s yard to help celebrate a special occasion (birthdays, good report card, etc.).  Won’t the kids be surprised to find the Hoover-Wood Hawks in the front yard?

In the fall and spring, parents ave the opportunity to order a wide variety of Hawk Gear spirit wear for their kids and themselves. 

Gift Card Program

Purchase gift cards from your favorite merchants and HWS receives a percentage back.  The gift card program is especially helpful at holiday time – no running from store to store for gift cards – purchase all you need in one place with minimal driving.  Order and pick-up dates will be in the Hawkwire, the Calendar, and email reminders will be sent.

Box Tops and Soup Labels for Education

Students and their families save box tops with the “Box Tops for Education” logo on them from selected General Mills products which include cereal, popcorn, Yoplait yogurt, and more.  General Mills donates cash to our PTO in return for submission.  Campbell’s offers an incentive program in which students and their families are asked to save labels from Campbell products.  The PTO can redeem the labels for free audio/visual equipment, reference books and other teaching aids.  The proceeds from these programs have been used to purchase lots of great gym and playground equipment and LRC supplies for Hoover-Wood.

School Supply Kits

The PTO contracts with a company to package almost all of the required school supplies, and deliver them to the school in a convenient shopping bag.  Order forms are due in May with pick-up in June..

Used Clothing Sale

Annual fundraisers

This event offers the opportunity to make money, and to buy great kids clothes and toys and gear inexpensively.  It is generally held in February.
