2010-2011 Proposed PTO Board Nominations
Tonight the PTO Board approved the ballot for the upcoming election.
These are the proposed PTO Board Nominations. Positions will be shared (co-chaired) where two names are listed.
Brian Singer and Cathleen Neibch - Co-Presidents Elect
Gina Micheli - Vice President
Dina Piwowarczyk - Secretary
Mindy Newberry - Treasurer
Chris Callahan and Lisa Thurston - Co-Directors Classroom Support
Melanie Murphy - Director of Communications
Stacy Novotny and Tina Nena - Co-Directors Fundraising
Voting will take place during the Fun Fair.
You may notice the President position is not up for election. That is due to the fact that the current president-elect automatically becomes president after a year.
Our Co-Presidents for next year are Karen Holden and Catherine Fitch.
PTO Election reminder
At our next board meeting we will finalize the ballot for the voting that will occur at the Fun Fair.
WE ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR A NEW PRESIDENT-ELECT (or two people to share).
If you (or anyone you know) are interested in any board position, please contact the nomination committee listed below. Any board position can be shared by two people to lessen the workload.
If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone else for a board position, please contact Gina Micheli, our vice-president and chair of the nomination committee.
Fun Fair classroom baskets
Hi everyone,
Attached is a list of the themes for the classroom baskets this year. Each family is asked to donate a new item of whatever value. You may also choose to write a check and the organizers will shop for you. If that is your choice, please send the check made out to Hoover-Wood PTO into school with your child's teacher's name, grade and theme on it.
Also, each family is asked to donate a minimum of 1 scratch-off instant lottery ticket. That will be included in a separate school-wide basket that will be raffled off during the Fun Fair. Please send these tickets in an envelope to the attention of Gina Sarik, Fun Fair.
Please remember, the deadline for donations is Friday, February 12.

Special Excel Gymnastics Night
We have arranged a special HWS-only night of fun at Excel gymnastics.
It's on February 14 and you must register if you plan to attend. Please see the attached flyer for details.

PTO Elections
The PTO elections will be held at the end of February, and we are currently looking for volunteers willing to serve on the board.
All board members are elected to a one year term with a maximum two consecutive years in the same position. Our current members are finishing up their first year and would like to be re-elected for a second term.
The position of President is a little different. That position serves as President-elect for one year and then takes over as President the following year. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW PRESIDENT-ELECT (or two people to share).

Special Fun Fair Gift Card order form
Is your child's classroom doing a gift card basket for the Fun Fair? Place your order through the school. if you can, and we all benefit!
Attached is a special gift card order form. A paper copy will come home in the backpacks on Friday.
These orders are due back by February 3 and the gift cards will be in the office for pick-up on February 6.
As a reminder, the deadline for the gift card baskets is February 12.

HWS 3rd Annual Children's Clothing & Toy Re-sale

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
No strollers or children under age 10 will be allowed on Friday
All sellers must register by e-mail to receive a seller number and price tags for labeling items. Donors do not need to register. Registration Dates: October 19, 2009 through Friday, February 5, 2010
